Fredericksburg area football is heating up as the top teams continue to dominate early-season matchups and make statements for the playoffs.

THE TOP TEN

10. Courtland Cougars (2-1)

Courtland climbs back into the rankings after a dominant 42-0 shutout of Orange, showing major growth on both sides of the ball. The Cougars were in control from start to finish, leaning on their run game and a defense that never let Orange breathe. With that type of balance, Courtland looks more than ready to make some noise as district play heats up.

9. Stafford Indians (2-1)

The Indians have been flat-out explosive the past two weeks, hanging 56 on Unity Reed and 51 on Osbourn Park, both in shutout fashion. Even in their lone loss, a 51-40 shootout with Woodbridge, the offense proved it can keep pace with anyone. With Champe’s defense giving up nearly 50 a game, Stafford has a prime chance to keep the fireworks rolling on the road tomorrow.

8. Spotsylvania Knights (2-0)

The Knights enjoyed a bye week but still moved up in the rankings after their strong 2-0 start. Vern Lunsford’s squad now has a real opportunity to make noise when they host Brooke Point tomorrow night. A win there could push Spotsy further up the list and solidify their hot start.

7. Brooke Point Black-Hawks (2-1)

The Black-Hawks bounced back in style with a 49-18 win, returning to their high-scoring ways and pushing their season average to 49.3 points per game. Malachi Redfearn and company have shown they can light up a scoreboard against anyone. Now they’ll look to keep it rolling as they head to Spotsy for a key early-season showdown tomorrow.

6. Caroline Cavaliers (2-0)

Caroline will head to King William looking to extend their winning streak and keep making a statement in the Battlefield District.

5. Kettle Run Cougars (3-0)

The Cougars handled Skyline with ease in a 36-0 shutout, flexing their usual balance and discipline. The defense once again proved stifling, never letting Skyline get comfortable, while the offense methodically controlled the game. At 3-0, Kettle Run remains one of the most consistent programs in the region.

4. Louisa Lions (2-0)

Louisa will now travel to Matoaca looking to keep their momentum rolling and maintain their spot as one of the top teams in the area.

#3 North Stafford Wolverines (2-1)

The Wolverines rolled past Gar-Field 40-7, once again showing their ability to adjust on the fly. After some early struggles offensively, Kenaz Sullivan stepped in at quarterback during the second half and gave the offense a major spark, leading multiple scoring drives. His versatility, paired with North’s tough defense, makes this group look more dangerous by the week.

2. Riverbend Bears (3-0)

The Bears absolutely dismantled King George 70-0, continuing their dominant run to open the season. Through three games, they’ve allowed just one touchdown while their offense has piled on points in bunches. Next up is a trip to 0-2 Albemarle, a team that has yet to score this season, setting the stage for another potential statement win.

1. Colonial Forge Eagles (3-0)

The Eagles handled business with a 47-14 rout of Gainesville, showcasing their balance on both sides of the ball. Forge has looked every bit the part of a state contender through three weeks, controlling games from start to finish. They’ll face a decent test Friday as undefeated Oakton (3-0) comes to town in a matchup with major Northern Virginia implications.
