540 Top 10 Post Week 4 2025
Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.
Fredericksburg area football is heating up as the top teams continue to dominate early-season matchups and make statements for the playoffs.
THE TOP TEN
10. Massaponax Panthers (2-2)
Massaponax returns to the top 10 for the first time in a while after a statement 41-0 win over Chancellor. Behind the physical play of Declan Ta’amai and Joe Sanders, the Panthers look like they’re finding their old identity again.
9. Spotsylvania Knights (3-1)
Spotsylvania takes a step back after a heartbreaking 20-19 loss to Brooke Point, their first setback of the season. The Knights showed grit but couldn’t quite finish the job late, leaving them eager to bounce back. They’ll get that chance this week in a pivotal test against a 2-1 Culpeper team.
8. Courtland Cougars (2-1)
Courtland slides up to No. 8 after a bye week and now gears up for a favorable matchup. The Cougars will travel to face 0-3 King George, a team that’s been outscored 159-6 through three games. It’s a golden chance for Courtland to keep momentum rolling in district play.
7. Brooke Point Black-Hawks (3-1)
Khien Kelly has taken over as Brooke Point’s quarterback and quickly made his presence felt. His leadership and composure were key in last week’s 20-19 win over #8 Spotsylvania. The victory not only boosts the Black-Hawks’ confidence but also shakes up the top 10 standings. Brooke Point will look to carry that momentum into their next matchup when they host 4-0 Riverbend.
6. Caroline Cavaliers (3-0)
Caroline will head to King William looking to extend their winning streak and keep making a statement in the Caroline continued its hot start with a 35-9 win over King William, moving to 3-0 on the season. Tre Coles powered the ground game, Blake Morris excelled at QB and WR, and Tronte Ballard anchored the trenches. The Cavs will look to keep rolling when they travel to 0-3 Chancellor next.
5. Kettle Run Cougars (4-0)
The Kettle Run Cougars continued their dominant start to the season with a commanding 48–6 victory over Warren County, improving their record to 4–0. The Cougars' offense was explosive, with standout performances from Dycen Tapscott, who accounted for 193 all-purpose yards and four total touchdowns, and Jonathan Taylor, who contributed 108 rushing yards and a touchdown.
4. Louisa Lions (3-0)
The Lions cruised to a 34-13 win over Matoaca, continuing their strong start to the season. Key contributions came from their usual playmakers, including Savion Hiter and Dyzier Carter, who helped control the pace on both sides of the ball. Louisa will now prepare for their next matchup with a tough test on the road.
#3 Riverbend Bears (4-0)
Riverbend rolled to an 81-8 blowout over Albemarle to move to 4-0, but the competition hasn’t tested them yet. The Bears will face a much stiffer challenge this week when they travel to take on Brooke Point.
2. North Stafford Wolverines (3-1)
North Stafford pulled out a thrilling 42-35 overtime victory over Woodbridge, with linebacker Antonio Hubbard sealing the win by recovering the game ending fumble. The Wolverines now head into a showdown with #1 Colonial Forge, setting up a battle of two of the area’s top squads.
1. Colonial Forge Eagles (4-0)
Colonial Forge stays at #1 after a commanding 42-14 win over previously undefeated Oakton. Senior QB Brock Brimhall threw for nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns, keeping the Eagles rolling as they prepare for their showdown with #2 North Stafford.
