#2 Riverbend (6-0): 40 at Mountain View (2-5): 14

Riverbend continues to look like a complete team, moving to 6-0 after a convincing 40-14 win over Mountain View. The Bears came out fast, with Cam Simmons putting on a show early taking a slant to the house for the opening score and later breaking free on a hitch to make it 20-0 in the first quarter. Riverbend’s defense set the tone all night, locking down a Mountain View offense that had done pretty well and gained over 300 yards the week before against Massaponax in their 40-28 loss. The Bears’ ability to strike early and then suffocate teams defensively is what’s made them so dangerous this season. With that win, all eyes now turn to next week’s showdown against #1 Colonial Forge — a game that could decide not only district bragging rights but regional seeding in their respective regions, too. For Mountain View, now 2-5, they’ll try to regroup as they prepare for another tough matchup against #3 North Stafford

Brooke Point (3-4): 15 at #1 Colonial Forge (7-0): 42

Colonial Forge stayed perfect on the year, rolling to a dominant 42-15 win over Brooke Point to move to 6-0. The Eagles came out flying behind the connection of Brock Brimhall and TaySean Jones, who linked up for touchdowns of 66 and 19 yards in the opening half to set the tone. Torie Martin and Jaylen Carter added rushing scores, while Brimhall found Darion Majeed for another touchdown before the defense capped things off with a pick-six to seal it. Forge showed once again why they’re the most balanced team in the area explosive through the air, physical on the ground, and opportunistic on defense. With the stage now set for a #1 vs #2 showdown at Riverbend next week, the Eagles will look to prove they’re still the kings of the Commonwealth. As for Brooke Point, now sitting at 3-4, they’ll regroup during the bye week and aim to make a late playoff push

#3 North Stafford (5-2): 30 at #10 Massaponax (3-3): 0

#3 North Stafford got back to business Friday night, blanking Massaponax 30-0 to move to 5-2 on the season. The Wolverines’ defense was suffocating, completely shutting down a Ponax triple-option attack that had dropped 40 points just a week prior. LB Antonio Hubbard and S Kenaz Sullivan led a physical effort that forced multiple three-and-outs and never let the Panthers get comfortable. Offensively, North mixed balance and patience, controlling the game from start to finish. With confidence building again, the Wolverines will now turn their attention to Homecoming against 2-5 Mountain View. As for Massaponax, now 3-3, they’ll need to regroup quickly before traveling to face a scrappy 3-3 Stafford squad next week.
