Week 4 540 Top 10
Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.
We love weeks like week 3! So many different results all over the place, I'm still not sure who is actually good and who isn't. Maybe everyone is good! Anyway here is our top 10!
THE TOP TEN
#10 King George Foxes (1-2)
Last Week: Loss to #10 Riverbend
It is hard to show off your explosive offense when your defense is having trouble stopping the run. JM comes to town looking for a huge win for their program
#9 Courtland Cougars (2-1)
Last Week: 41-7 loss at North Stafford
The Cougars defense simply had no answer for North Stafford's passing attack on Friday night, a stark contrast from the way they controlled Louisa's weapons the previous week.
#8 Eastern View Cyclones (1-1)
Last Week: Bye
A well timed bye to lick their wounds, the Cyclones will get ready for a big game against high scoring Brooke Point.
#7 North Stafford Wolverines (1-1)
Last Week: 41-7 Win over #2 Courtland
The Wolverines are not so young anymore... Courtland learned this the hard way as they were dominated by a Wolverine team that kept their mistakes to a minimum and pulled off explosive plays all night. A tough test at Briar Woods will tell us even more about this Wolverines team.
#6 Riverbend Bears (2-1)
Last Week: 35-20 Win over #6 King George
A big road victory for the Bears showed that toughness still runs deep in this program. The Bears did not even try to pass the ball last Friday, they didn't need to, they pounded KG on the ground to the tune of over 400 yards rushing, JoJo Thomas led the running for over 200 of those yards, an angry and tested Highland Springs is in town next.
#5. Mountain View Wildcats (1-1)
Last Week: Bye
The bye week helps the Wildcats move up with so much movement around them. Woodgrove beating Stone Bridge and holding them to 7 last Friday doesn't hurt either.
#4 Stafford Indians (3-0)
Last Week: 35-0 win over Colgan
Stafford through 3 games has looked dominant on both sides of the ball with their starters in, a win over Independence and the Indians will be off to their best 4 game start since 2017
3. Brooke Point Black-Hawks (3-0)
Last Week: 54-7 Win over Independence
Brooke Point continues to light up the scoreboard, this time hanging a fifty burger in Independence a big game against Eastern View this weekend.
2. Kettle Run Cougars (2-0)
Last Week: 34-28 win over Handley
Cougars hang tough against an always game Handley team from Winchester.
#1 Colonial Forge Eagles (3-0)
Last Week: 48-12 Win over Potomac
The Eagles had their most dominant performance so far this season easily routing an over matched Potomac team. The difficulty raises this weekend as (RB) Jackson McCarter and Patriot come to town.
