Week 6 540 Top 10
Disclaimer: This is a list for PUBLIC school teams in the area not private that way we avoid as many Strength of Schedule debates as possible.
What a week in Week 5 was! Big upsets and hard hitting as district play began. This was a hard Top 10 to come up with and not everyone will be happy! The Top 5 is probably the closest it has ever been.
THE TOP TEN
#10 King George Foxes (2-2)
Last Week: 50-o Win over James Monroe
The Foxes got back to looking like the Foxes and rolled over JM 50-0... A big match up with Courtland on Friday.
#9 Brooke Point Black-Hawks (3-2)
Last Week: 34-20 Loss to #4 North Stafford
After a quick start the Black Hawks are on a 2 game skid... They have a shot a huge win on Friday night though
#8 Riverbend Bears (2-2)
Last Week: 28-7 loss to Highland Springs
The Bears were unable to get much going after a successful first drive... They play their first district game against defending district champion MV on Friday
#7 Courtland Cougars (3-1)
Last Week: 34-0 Win over Culpeper
Courtland got back to tough defense and power football last Friday night and secured a comfortable win.
#6 Eastern View Cyclones (3-1)
Last Week: 42-21 Win over Caroline
EV over came a slow start to hang 42 on an improved Caroline team... How will they handle North's speed?
#5. Kettle Run Cougars (4-0)
Last Week: 62-0 win over Skyline
At this rate the competition is looking too easy for the Cougars... Could Millbrook have something up their sleeve?
#4 North Stafford Wolverines (3-1)
Last Week: 34-20 win over Brooke Point
The Wolverines have found a way to win on a weekly basis the last 3 weeks.. This time making huge plays each time it was needed
3. Mountain View Wildcats (3-1)
Last Week: 21-0 Win over Massaponax
The Wildcats managed to shut out Massaponax... something that hasn't been done since 2018... Can their offense get going as match ups with Forge and Patriot approach?
2. Colonial Forge Eagles (4-1)
Last Week: 35-31 Loss to #5 Stafford
The Eagles lost a shocker to a surging Stafford team on the road. We still feel they have one of the more complete teams in the region
#1 Stafford Indians (5-0)
Last Week: 35-31 Win over #1 Colonial Forge
As recently as 2021 Stafford finished the season winless and they have climbed all the way to the top of our rankings. Zion and Creamer have is quite possibly the best 1-2 combo in the district, could the Indians be here to stay this season?
