#8 King George (4-2) at Caroline (5-1):

---

Tonight, #8 King George (4-2) hits the road to take on a surging Caroline (5-1) team in what could be a statement game for both squads. Last week, King George made easy work of Culpeper with a 58-14 win, while Caroline's offense continued its explosive run, beating Chancellor 56-28. In last year's meeting, King George dominated, winning 59-13, but this is a different Caroline team. After finishing 4-6 last season, the Cavaliers have already surpassed that mark with five wins, and while they haven’t beaten King George since 2010, Caroline’s offense, led by QB Payton Fletcher, has been dynamic. With playmakers like Malik Johnson and Blake Morris providing plenty of firepower. RB Vladimir Joacin has also emerged as a versatile threat, making Caroline a dangerous team in their own right. King George comes into this one with plenty of offensive firepower as well. QB Dylan Koch has been distributing the ball effectively to weapons like Ky’Mani Carpenter, Gunnar Regar, and Charles Johnson. The Foxes will be looking to keep their playoff positioning strong, but Caroline isn’t a team to overlook this year. While many see the Cavaliers as underdogs, they don't share that sentiment. Expect Caroline to come out with a chip on their shoulder, trying to rewrite history in a matchup that could shift the power balance in their district.

#7 Mountain View (3-3) at #10 Brooke Point (4-3):

---

Tonight #7 Mountain View (3-3) travels to #10 Brooke Point (4-3) in a pivotal Commonwealth District showdown that could make or break both teams' playoff hopes. Last week, Mountain View put up a decent effort but ultimately fell to #2 Colonial Forge 23-13, while Brooke Point's offense lit up Massaponax in a 52-36 win. In their last meeting, Mountain View dominated Brooke Point 34-6, marking their fifth straight win in the series. But this season, the teams have been closer in wins and losses but opposites in terms of style and performance. Mountain View’s defense has been their calling card, allowing just 13 points per game, while their offense has been steady, averaging 23 points. Brooke Point, on the other hand, boasts one of the area’s most explosive offenses, putting up 41 points per game but struggling on defense, giving up 32 points per contest. Both teams find themselves in must-win situations as playoff positions hang in the balance. Brooke Point, currently sitting as the 8th seed, is barely clinging to a spot, while Mountain View, ranked 11th, is fighting to get back into the mix. For Brooke Point, QB Gabe Dombek has been the engine of the offense, while Mountain View has seen WR Tyler Tanks emerge as a top target for QB Jaylin Castro, with RB Torie Martin playing a key role in their ground attack. The Wildcats will need their defense to keep the high-flying Black-Hawks in check, while Brooke Point hopes their offense can outscore Mountain View’s stingy defense in a crucial matchup.

#1 Stafford (6-0) at #3 North Stafford (5-1)

This Friday, the stakes are higher than ever as #1 Stafford (6-0) heads to #3 North Stafford (5-1) for the annual "Battle of the Bell," with not just bragging rights on the line but crucial playoff positioning. Last week, Stafford enjoyed a bye after surviving a 63-56 shootout with Brooke Point, while North Stafford edged Riverbend 40-33 in a nail-biter, thanks to a clutch 4th-down conversion by RB Micah Brown from QB Chase Sullivan on the game-winning drive. Last season, Stafford snapped North's dominance in the rivalry with a 27-6 victory, reclaiming the Bell for the first time since 2010. Prior to that, North had controlled this matchup for over a decade, and they’ll be hungry to get back on top. Both teams are loaded with talent. Stafford’s QB Zion Gray has been electric this season, and RB Michael Creamer continues to be a workhorse, while the offensive line led by Zavion Harris has been opening up big lanes for them. On the other side, North Stafford boasts a dangerous duo in WR Kenaz Sullivan and RB Micah Brown, who has been key in keeping their offense balanced. This matchup carries extra weight, as both teams are ranked #1 and #2 in the VHSL power points ratings, making this game pivotal for postseason seeding. Expect a hard-fought contest with everything on the line.
